Types of Resin for 3D Printed Figures: Why We Use ABS-Like Resin?
When it comes to 3D printed collectible figures, material quality is as important as the paint or the final finish. There are different types of resin, each with its advantages and disadvantages. Choosing the right one is essential to achieve detailed, resistant, and durable pieces.
At Veneroso Figures, we are committed to quality, which is why we exclusively use ABS-Like resin, a more resistant option that helps reduce the risk of accidental breakage.
Standard Resin
Standard resin is the most common in 3D printing. It allows for excellent detail and very smooth surfaces, making it widely used for miniatures and complex models.
However, it has a significant drawback: it is quite fragile. Thin parts, swords, strands of hair, or delicate elements can break more easily with a bump or a fall.
Advantages
- High level of detail.
- Very clean finishes.
- Economical price.
Disadvantages
- More brittle.
- Lower impact resistance.
Tough Resin
Tough resin is designed to offer greater resistance and some flexibility, absorbing impacts better than standard resin.
Advantages
- Greater resistance.
- Better performance against impacts.
Disadvantages
- Higher price.
- May be too flexible for some pieces.
ABS-Like Resin
ABS-Like resin combines a high level of detail with much greater resistance. Its properties are similar to those of ABS plastic, used in many products for its durability.
It is one of the best options for collectible figures, as it provides more robust pieces and significantly reduces the risk of breakage.
Advantages
- Excellent level of detail.
- Greater hardness and resistance.
- Better absorption of small impacts.
- Lower probability of accidental breakage.
Disadvantages
- Higher cost.
Why do we use ABS-Like resin at Veneroso Figures?
At Veneroso Figures, we believe that a figure should not only look spectacular but also be able to withstand the test of time.
That's why we work exclusively with high-quality ABS-Like resins, even if their cost is higher than standard resin. We prefer to invest in a better material to offer more resistant and reliable pieces.
Collectible figures often incorporate delicate elements such as swords, wings, strands of hair, or transparent effects. Thanks to ABS-Like resin, these components have greater resistance, and the risk of breakage during transport or handling is reduced.
Of course, no material is indestructible, but using a higher quality resin allows us to offer safer and more durable figures.
Quality and peace of mind for the collector
Every figure from Veneroso Figures is printed in Spain with premium ABS-Like resin and painted entirely by hand. Our goal is to offer pieces with exceptional detail, high-quality finishes, and superior resistance so you can enjoy your collection for many years.
Because a collectible figure should be as resistant as it is spectacular.
